PMH recently held its annual food drive benefiting Jubilee Ministry Food Bank with participation from PMH employees, medical staff, volunteers, PMH Foundation Board and PMH Board of Commissioners. The 2014 numbers surpassed the 2013 numbers by a whopping 162%! “Thanks to the PMH food drive, the Food Bank received an astounding 2,420 pounds of canned and other food product AND a much appreciated $4,411 in cash donations. This was truly a blessing.” -Bill Notaro, Executive Director, Jubilee Ministry Food Bank.
Every Tuesday, the PMH Community Paramedic program provides free blood pressure and blood sugar checks to those that may not otherwise seek out these services. Patients are given a card to track and monitor these vitals over a period of time. “This is a great idea primarily because the majority of those who use the Food Bank are in financial crisis and would very likely avoid or put off seeking medical attention if needed.”- Bill Notaro
PMH Paramedics visit Jubliee Food Bank in Prosser every Tuesday from 10am-11am. Free blood pressure checks are also available 24/7 at the PMH Emergency Department.
